April 2009 Devotional

“My beloved speaks and says to me: Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away; lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.” (Song of Solomon 2:11-12 RSV)

Have you survived a winter of discontent? Are you sighing for a blossoming of hope, a songbird’s invitation to love again? Then arise to the call of your Savior and go where His Spirit prompts you. He can renew your youth like the eagle’s and fill your mouth with good things.

Age is no barrier. For two thousand years Jesus has danced in a resurrection body that never tires or falters. Beauty is no prerequisite. In an instant He promises to transform you into a radiant Bride that leaves millions of angels breathless. No broken dream disqualifies you, no season of wallowing in self-pity. Just take his hand go where He bids. Your love will be tested, but never disappointed.
